news out of san jose where chp is looking for the driver of a deadly hit and run. it happened shortly after 3:00 at interstate 280. the chp says the driver spotted the body and called 911. it's not known how the woman ended up on the freeway. the chp has been investigating people all morning. anyone with information on this accident is asked to call the chp. janine de la vega will have more in a live report coming up at 6:30. >>> we haves a another problem on the other end of the bay. we have been talking about a boulder that rolled on to an suv. >> reporter: we are just south of the waldo tunnel and just north of the golden gate bridge. let's take a look hoe. you can see there is a broken fence line here. it's believe the at least a large boulder or rocks. and it also effected three other cars as well. literally about a minute and a ago -- very unstable along the 101 but traffic still moving here smoothly. at least on the five and six lanes. here with more on the traffic conditions and what happened this morning mary. what do you know this morning? >> reporter: we are about an hour i
collecting evidence. just before 7:00 last night san jose police officers in unmarked cars tried to stop the car but the driver of the car started ramming into two police cars and a parked vehicle. the officer got out of their vehicle and that's when the suspect accelerated towards the officer. out of fear for their lives they shot the suspect and one neighbor heard all the chaos while she was eating dinner. >> we heard a car crash and she looked out the window and it was a car crash and we ran outside and we all of a sudden heard a popping sound and i guess it was gunfire. and they had all of their guns drawn and she was telling everybody, go inside, go inside. [ police sirens ] >> reporter: that suspect was rushed to the hospital where he died of his injuries and there was a passenger with him and he is being cooperative and it is unknown if he will be charged with anything. this happened in an unincorporated area of san jose. they have people being placed on administrative leave, back out here live again this is a meticulous shooting. i do have a s
the suspects could have been linked to an armed robbery in san jose. here's the intersection where the drive-by shooting happened and police were led on a wild chase through three east bay cities late last night. our cameras caught the chase north through 880. police tried to pull the driver other in hayward for dui and reckless driving. but he sped off through san leandro and oakland. the car spun out of control between 580 between harrison and park and police cars slammed into it to box the car in. officers say people were throwing things out on the roadway. they never found the objects but officers did find weapons inside the vehicle when it finally stopped. >> they pursued the vehicle in oakland where it crossed across the center median. the three occupants were taken into custody from there. >> reporter: police believe those three could be tied to a shooting in hayward early yesterday afternoon. a man was driving with his wife and child at tennyson and kalaroga when he was struck by a bullet and taken to the hospital. he's expected to survive. a hayward police officer tweeted around mid

is on for two men who followed people from a light rail station in san jose and robbed them. janine de la vega sat station with -- is at the station with a look at the suspects. >> reporter: i am standing in front of the light rail station. police say passengers who were riding the train were followed from here and into a neighborhood about a half a mile away and then robbed. police want to know if you recognize these two men. one of them is black, the other is latino and both appear to be in their 20s. this is surveillance video of the two suspects leaving the train on march 8th. investigators say at 7:30 that night suspects followed victims from a train into the 2700 block. that is where they confronted the victims saying they would shoot if they didn't turn over their property. the suspects robbed the victims and ran away. the first is described as being black, 5'10", 180 pounds with a afro wearing a white t-shirt and white and black plaid shorts. the other is latino 5'8", 180 pounds. he f you have any information about this robbery or if you recog

-involved shooting in unincorporated san jose. ktvu channel 2 reporter janine de la vega is live in san jose with what police are saying about gunfire that followed an overnight chase. good morning, janine. >> reporter: good morning, tori. sheriff's deputies just cleared the scene on jerilyn drive. they've been here for 12 hours investigating. we were just told by a neighbor. they say this is where the suspect in a stolen car was shot, where you see all of this broken glass and just across the street, that's where they say that he crashed his car after he was shot. i don't know if you can see. there's some debris there, still in the street in this residential neighborhood. now, this all took place just before 7:00 last night. san jose police were driving in unmarked cars from the specialized metro team. they spotted the stolen car, tried to spot it. authorities say they did use their lights and siren. the suspect then started to ram into police cars and the parked vehicle. one of the officers got out of his car. investigators say that's when the suspect
